At Generus Living Group we’re not bankers. We’re not corporate investors or real estate agents. We’re New Zealanders like you, working hard to build places where people just like us would choose to live.

Our villages don’t start in an office with spreadsheets or business plans or with a sharemarket announcement. They start with a genuine understanding of what a particular community might want and by asking ourselves the only question that matters:

Would my parents want to live here?

If the answer is “yes,” we think about what retired people just like my Mum and Dad might look for in a home. Security, support, space … they’re givens of course, and all our villages must provide these. But it’s the differences that matter most. We don’t build institutions, we build real villages; communities that don’t take away your independence either in style or in substance but are still there if and when you need us. We won’t take the same plan for one village and use it for another; one-size-fits-all might make more money, but there’s more to life than that.

We set out to craft villages that reflect their unique location and to create a special kind of community for residents that wish to remain as individual as our villages are; and that’s what we’ll always try to do.
